The front left wheel gets oil on it and I think it comes from the front left hub. Is there an oil seal on this thing and how can it be fixed, or is there just too much oil in the pot?

If it's a 4wd tractor, there are likely a number of seals that could leak. Normally oil to lubricate the axle bearings and final gear reduction boxes comes from the front axle and an overfilled axle could cause some leaking.
When I check the front axle oil on my Ford, there usually is a small 'whoose' when I remove the fill cap. There is some pressure and that would make any leak worse. I believe the pressure is normal and my Ford doesn't leak.

It is a 4wd and there is a separate oil reservoir for the axle which has a small dip stick reading the proper level of oil. This "hub" is like an open canaster with a planatary gear in it and an oil drain plug on the bottom. The top of the canaster has a rubber gasket which seals the top and still allows the steering movement to occur. Then the tire and wheel bolt onto the side of this "hub". I presume that the only way to fill the oil is to remove the "hub" and pour some oil into the top but there is no marker to indicate proper oil level. Thanks for your time. ....

There is a seal that can be replaced. Oil is added atthe axle housing fill opening & runs to the final drives. I can supply you with the parts & a parts book , so you can see how it is assembled. ....

Thank you Leonard! I scanned a manual pic of my Ford front axle and was going to post it saying that if it looks like this then it probably gets oil from the front axle. However, I would still have had to say that I don't know the tractor and there are no guarantees.
I know on my Ford there are drain plugs on the bottom of the final reduction units. Part of the units are below the axles and they wouldn't completely drain through the differential drain. When I changed my front axle oil, I noticed it took quite awhile for oil to fill the final reduction units. The next time I change oil, I'll probably leave the plugs loose and rotate the front wheels by hand until I see oil coming out the drains. Even then it'd be good to drive it a bit and then check the oil levels again.
Replacing seals on my Ford takes a bit of tear down and I probably wouldn't bother unless a leak was really aggravating.
